Courses on Sugarcraft

Monday, September 15th, 2008

From Monday next 22nd September I will be teaching a 10 week evening course on Sugarcraft & cake decorating in Athlone It.

Its a course for people who would like to learn a little more about cake decorating.  It is for beginners and will give a good overview on all aspects of sugarcraft.

It has been very well attended every year and usually ends up as two courses to fit in the numbers.  There are some demonstrations and some practical work.

If you would like any further information let me know.

Our Tallest Wedding Cake to date

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Pink & Ivory TowerThis pink and ivory tower was produced for a wedding in the Killyhevlin Hotel in Enniskillen.

Each tier is made with a double tier of cake.   They were rich fruit cake, moist chocolate cake and also lemon maderia.

It had a lace design on the top of each cake and pink and ivory roses in between each double tier.

It looked really stunning in this beautiful well lit function room.  Thanks to the Thomas and the staff at the hotel for all their help.

Communion & Confirmation Cakes

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Confirmation cakesFirst Holy Communion and Confirmation are coming up fast.  We make communion cakes and confirmation cakes which have a prayer book and Rosary beads handmade from sugarpaste.  The cakes, lemon maderia, chocolate or carrot, are made as near as possible to the date ensuring that they taste as delicious as they look.

We normally keep the Communion cakes white with the writing in pink or blue.  The Confirmation cakes can be any colour.   Order early as dates fill up quickly.

We can personalise them by putting the number plate, company name on the truck or hay in the tractor.

Send us a photo of the vehicle and we will try to get it as near as possible.

Here are a few of them. (more…)
